Where do the members of the Association meet ?

NRIPA meetings are held as General Membership (GM) meetings at central locations within the Garden City of Bangalore. Area Meets (AM) are hosted by members in their houses, in one of five areas of our fair city.

GM meetings are held at least monthly to discuss common concerns and future direction of the association. Activity planning is a shared responsibility; all members are encouraged to contribute ideas and suggestions and 'participate in the Managing Committee'. A program of specialist guest speakers on topics of common interest like travel, insurance, stress management, law of wills and estate, health awareness, etc. are often presented at these meetings.

Area meetings are aimed at developing the fellowship of the members of the association. These meetings are arranged at a time and place convenient to a majority of the members.

The association also arranges periodical field trips and picnic outings for the members.

The members of the association share at least one common concern - "Our children do not live in India". We engage ourselves in societal activities to ease our mind and forget temporarily the concern for our children abroad., with the knowledge that there are others with similar concerns.

So, is the association all fun and games ?

NRIPA has undertaken such as monetary contribution to Kargil Martyrs' Relief Fund, dispensing medicines , hearing aids, oxygen cylinders to the less privileged senior citizens living in the less developed areas, monetary help to blind school, encouragement to physically handicapped artists, furniture to Old Age Homes and creating awarenes for clean and safe environment by participating in "Stop polluting T.G.Halli Reservoir, Senior Citizens Safety Campaign"

The fun and games aspect of NRIPA is in addition to numerous charitable programs the members participate in. This includes volunteering at local charities and social welfare groups, Homes for the Elderly, Pet Shelters and Rural Education initiatives.
